VIGI, VYMI: new International Dividend ETFs by Vanguard

Vanguard, begun trading 2 new ETFs, the Vanguard International Dividend Appreciation ETF (Nasdaq: VIGI) and the Vanguard International High Dividend Yield ETF (Nasdaq: VYMI) on Wednesday, March 02, 2016. Here is a synopsis of the new ETFs:

FUND INFORMATION:

Symbol: VIGI Exchange: NASDAQ
Name: Vanguard International Dividend Appreciation ETF Net Expense Ratio: 0.25%

 

FUND OBJECTIVE:
The Vanguard International Dividend Appreciation ETF seeks to track the performance of the Nasdaq International Dividend Achievers Select Index.

REFERENCE INDEX:
The Nasdaq International Dividend Achievers Select Index focuses on high quality companies located in developed and emerging markets, excluding the United States, that have both the ability and the commitment to grow their dividends over time.

Among the criteria must meet in order a security to be eligible in the Index are:
* be included in the NASDAQ Global Ex-US Index (NQGXUS) excluding REITs,
* have at least 7 consecutive years of increasing annual regular dividend payments,
* have a minimum 3-month average daily dollar trading volume of $500,000,
* one security per issuer is permitted.

The Index Securities are evaluated annually in March. Security additions and deletions are made effective after the close of trading on the third Friday in March. The Index employs a modified market capitalization weighting methodology. At the rebalancing, the Index is rebalanced such that the maximum weight of any Index Security does not exceed 4%. The excess weight of any capped security is distributed proportionally across the remaining Index Securities. As of  March 04, 2016,  the index was comprised of 209 stocks.

FUND OBJECTIVE:
The Vanguard International High Dividend Yield ETF measures the investment return of the FTSE All-World ex US High Dividend Yield Index.

 

REFERENCE INDEX:
The FTSE All-World ex US High Dividend Yield Index focuses on 801 companies located in developed and emerging markets, excluding the United States, that are forecasted to have above-average dividend yields.
